Strange representation of reflection rainbows figuring in Camille Flammarion’s ‘L’atmosphere’. The bows were observed in Scotland on October 20th, 1879. After Perter/Exner (pp.599), the observer was Hannay who himself only saw the reflection bow on the left hand side. The ‘full display’ was reported to him. The refletcion bows probably did not occur at the same time - this would have afforded two different reflections on the water.
